Our high quality grass-fed animals graze in the fields during the warm months of the year and are fed grass silage in the winter.
Our grass silage is made from the grass we collect while maintaining the lawns of our neighbors.
Formally waste left to rot in landfills and mulch piles everywhere, The Sustainable Steer has developed a process to reuse lawn clippings as silage, a high nutrient animal food.
This process uses less energy to produce animal feed, while reducing overall yard waste, and making the lawns of our neighbors a sustainable commodity of the small farmer.
We welcomed our first 2 calfs in October
